Current Water Temperature
Water Temperature in the Bacchiglione River today is 50°F.
Water Temperature: Daily Trends, Historical Records, and Forecast
❌ As of today, the minimum water temperature ranges from 47°F (8°C) to 50°F (10°C). This is still cool water, suitable only for experienced swimmers or those accustomed to cold water. Swimming in such conditions is possible, but not recommended for prolonged periods. Extra caution should be taken during extended exposure, as the cold water can cause heat loss and lead to hypothermia. For added comfort, special clothing can be used. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. When the air temperature is below 68°F (20°C), and sometimes even below 77°F (25°C), swimming can be unpleasant even with relatively high water temperatures.

*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Bacchiglione in Veneto has a temperate river regime with clear seasonal swings in water temperature. In winter the river commonly ranges from about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), reflecting cold air and spring-fed inputs. In spring temperatures typically climb to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as flows rise and air warms. Peak summer temperatures are usually around 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), though shallow backwaters and slow stretches can warm further, sometimes approaching the high 20s °C (around 82 °F) on hot days. In autumn temperatures tend to fall back to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). Local conditions — depth, flow rate, shading, and intermittent thermal inputs from urban runoff — produce variability along different reaches of the river.
Swimming opportunities depend on location and time of year. In rural or less-industrial sections where water quality is monitored and currents are moderate, people sometimes swim in warm months, but in many urban stretches around Vicenza and Padua swimming is discouraged or formally restricted because of pollution, navigation, weirs, and safety hazards such as submerged structures and variable currents. Municipal regulations, posted signage and recent water-quality reports should be checked before entering the river; lifeguards are generally absent and conditions can change quickly.
