Location & Local Information
The Ložnica River is a small watercourse in northern Slovenia, flowing through the Velenje area before joining the Paka. As a minor tributary with a mix of springs and surface inflows, its water temperature can vary significantly with the season and weather. In spring and early summer it is generally cool, often around 10–14°C, while in the warmest months shallow stretches may heat up to 18–21°C. Because of its modest size, the river warms more quickly than larger alpine streams.
Swimming in the Ložnica is not common, mainly because of its small width and variable flow. Still, during hot summer days, locals—especially children—sometimes wade or splash around in calmer parts. The river is valued more for its natural charm, shade, and as a pleasant spot to relax by the water rather than as a recognized swimming destination.
