*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Guadarrama, rising in the Sierra de Guadarrama and flowing through the Madrid region, tends to be cool year-round because of its mountain sources and shaded valleys. Seasonal water temperatures typically range from about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F) in winter, through roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) in spring, rising to approximately 14–22 °C (57–72 °F) in the warmest summer months in sheltered or shallow stretches, and then falling back to around 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) in autumn. Local conditions such as rainfall, snowmelt, depth, and flow speed can produce significant short-term variations, so temperatures at a particular spot may be noticeably cooler or warmer than the regional averages.
Swimming in the Guadarrama is possible in many calmer, accessible sections during the warmer months, but it is not universally permitted or advisable everywhere. Some stretches pass through protected natural areas or private land where bathing is restricted, and water quality or strong currents can make swimming unsafe in places. Even in summer, the river’s relatively low temperatures increase the risk of cold shock and hypothermia if one stays in the water too long. Visitors should follow local signage and regulations, choose designated bathing spots when available, and take standard water-safety precautions.
