*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Tajuña, a tributary of the Jarama running through the Madrid region, tends to have relatively cool water year-round because of its modest flow and shading in many stretches. In winter the river often registers around 5–10 °C (41–50 °F), which is too cold for comfortable swimming and carries a real risk of cold-water shock. In spring temperatures usually rise to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as runoff and air temperatures increase. By summer some shallow pools and slow reaches can warm to roughly 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), and occasionally to 25–28 °C (77–82 °F) in very calm, sun-exposed sections; in autumn the river cools again into the 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) range.
Swimming in the Río Tajuña is not uniformly regulated, and there are few official bathing sites along most of its course. Local people sometimes bathe in quieter pools or reservoirs connected to the river during warm months, but authorities may discourage swimming in many stretches due to variable water quality, agricultural runoff, fluctuating flows, submerged hazards and property access issues. Anyone considering bathing should check local signage and water-quality advisories, choose calmer designated spots if available, and be mindful of temperature-related risks even in summer.
