** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Algodor, a tributary in Castilla–La Mancha, typically shows pronounced seasonal swings in water temperature because of its inland Mediterranean climate and variable flow. In winter the water commonly sits around 4–10 °C (39–50 °F), while spring temperatures usually climb into the 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) range as air temperatures warm. Peak warmth is reached in summer, when shallow stretches and reservoir-fed pools can warm to roughly 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), though cooler currents persist in deeper or shaded channels. In autumn the river cools again, often ranging between about 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as runoff and reduced solar heating lower temperatures.
Swimming in the Río Algodor is possible in many calmer sections, particularly in summer when temperatures are comparatively comfortable, but it is not uniformly regulated like a municipal bathing beach. Some stretches are used for recreation, while others may be restricted for reasons of water supply protection, conservation, private ownership or safety around dams and weirs. Water quality can vary seasonally and stagnant pools may develop algal growth after hot weather, and cold spring or autumn water can pose hypothermia risks. For those considering a swim it is advisable to choose well-exposed, flowing sections, heed local signage and confirm any formal restrictions before entering the water.
