** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Foix River (Río Foix) in Catalonia is a relatively small Mediterranean river whose temperatures change noticeably with the seasons and with location along its course. In winter the water in upland and flowing stretches commonly sits around 8–14 °C (46–57 °F), while spring sees a rise to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as snowmelt and rainfall increase flow. Summer temperatures in slower reaches and in the Pantà del Foix reservoir can reach about 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), and in shallow, sun-warmed pools temperatures occasionally climb toward 26–28 °C (79–82 °F). Autumn values typically fall back into a 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) range. Local weather, recent rains, and shading by vegetation all affect these figures, so short-term variation is common.
Swimming opportunities on the Foix depend on place and timing: some calmer stretches, natural pools and downstream estuary areas are used for bathing in warm months, but others are unsuitable because of currents, low water levels or water quality issues after storms. The reservoir and certain protected or managed zones may prohibit bathing for safety, water-supply or conservation reasons, and algal blooms can occur in hot, stagnant conditions. Visitors should follow local signage and advisories, check water quality updates, and be cautious about currents, depth and submerged hazards before entering.
