*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Gaià River (Río Gaià in Spanish) is a relatively short Mediterranean river in Catalonia that flows from the coastal range to the sea. Water temperatures vary with season and with local shading, depth and flow. In winter (December–February) surface temperatures commonly sit around 8–12 °C (46–54 °F). Spring (March–May) brings gradual warming, roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). In summer (June–August), shallow pools and slow stretches can reach 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), while deeper or shaded reaches remain cooler. Autumn (September–November) typically ranges from about 14–20 °C (57–68 °F) as the river cools after the warm months. Drought years and heavy rains both change these typical values: low flow raises temperature in small pools, while freshets produce colder, faster water.
Swimming in the Gaià is possible in many calm, accessible pools and near the lower reaches where the current is mild, and it is generally permitted unless specific signs or protections forbid it. However, local rules, private property, water quality, sudden depth changes, rocks and variable currents mean conditions should be checked on site. Some sections are environmentally sensitive or managed, so visitors should follow signage and municipal guidance; when in doubt, prefer official bathing areas or ask local authorities about safety and quality before entering the water.
