*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Dragonja River flows through southwestern Slovenia, forming part of the natural border with Croatia before reaching the Adriatic Sea. Because it is relatively small and shallow, the water temperature in summer tends to rise quickly, often becoming pleasantly warm on hot days. However, the river also reacts to weather changes, so after rain it can cool down noticeably. Unlike large lakes or coastal waters, its conditions vary a lot depending on the season and recent weather.
Swimming in the Dragonja is not common, as the river is narrow, rocky, and in many places quite shallow. Still, on warm summer days locals and hikers sometimes dip their feet or cool off in calm pools along its course. The lower part of the river, closer to the sea, may offer slightly deeper spots suitable for short swims, but overall it is more a place to refresh yourself briefly than for full recreational swimming.
