** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Cervo is a mountain-fed river in Piedmont whose temperature varies with season, altitude and recent precipitation. In winter, water typically ranges from about 0–6 °C (32–43 °F) in higher stretches and cooler lowland reaches after cold spells. Spring brings a gradual rise to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) as snowmelt and warming air increase flow and temperature. In summer, shallow pools and slower stretches can warm to roughly 16–24 °C (61–75 °F), although faster, alpine-influenced reaches often stay cooler and seldom exceed the mid-20s °C (mid-70s °F). Autumn temperatures generally fall back to approximately 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) before winter cooling sets in.
Swimming in the Cervo is possible in many calmer sections and natural pools, particularly in summer when temperatures are most comfortable, but it is not uniformly recommended everywhere. Local restrictions, private land, strong currents, sudden flow changes from upstream releases and variable water quality after storms can make some spots unsafe or prohibited. Managed bathing areas and commonly used local access points tend to be safer because they are calmer and monitored; elsewhere visitors should heed signage, municipal rules and safety advice. Overall, summer offers the best opportunities for bathing, while spring and autumn are cooler and winter swimming is only for the well-prepared.
