Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Verzasca flows through a narrow alpine valley in Ticino and is famous for its clear turquoise water and smooth granite pools. Despite the southern location, water temperature remains cold because the river is fed by mountain springs. In winter, temperatures are typically around 2–4 °C (36–39 °F). During spring, snowmelt keeps the river cool at about 6–10 °C (43–50 °F). In summer, even on hot days, the Verzasca usually reaches only about 12–16 °C (54–61 °F). In autumn, temperatures fall again below 10 °C (50 °F).
Swimming in the Verzasca is allowed and very popular in summer, especially in natural pools and calmer sections. The water quality is excellent, but the low temperature, strong currents after rain, and sudden depth changes require caution. Swimming is best suited to confident swimmers and short dips rather than long stays. Outside summer, the cold water limits swimming to experienced cold-water enthusiasts.
