Water Temperature: Daily Trends, Historical Records, and Forecast
❌ As of today, the minimum water temperature ranges from 41°F (5°C) to 47°F (8°C). This water temperature is still quite low, and swimming in such conditions may only be comfortable for hardened individuals. It is recommended to limit the time spent in the water to avoid hypothermia. For those not accustomed to cold water, it is better to refrain from swimming. However, if you decide to enter the water, it is advisable to wear a warm wetsuit for protection against the cold. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. When the air temperature is below 68°F (20°C), and sometimes even below 77°F (25°C), swimming can be unpleasant even with relatively high water temperatures.

*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Lambro is a river in Lombardy that runs through both rural and heavily urbanized areas. Water temperatures vary with season, flow and location: in winter the river commonly cools to about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), in spring it typically rises to roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F), and in summer surface temperatures in slower, shallower stretches often reach about 16–24 °C (61–75 °F), occasionally climbing higher into the mid-20s °C (mid-70s to low-80s °F) during heat waves. Autumn sees a return toward springlike values as air temperatures fall. Local factors such as depth, tributary inflows and shading from vegetation cause significant short‑term and site‑to‑site variation.
Swimming opportunities on the Lambro are limited and uneven. Much of the river passes through urban zones with a history of industrial and municipal pollution, and most stretches are not officially designated or routinely monitored as bathing waters, so authorities generally do not recommend informal swimming; some municipalities post restrictions or warnings, especially after heavy rain when pollutant levels can spike. Upstream, less impacted reaches may be used by locals for cooling off, but safety (currents, underwater hazards) and water quality remain concerns. For safe recreational bathing in Lombardy, people are usually advised to choose recognized, monitored bathing sites.
