*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
West Boggs Lake in southern Indiana experiences a typical seasonal cycle for a midwestern reservoir. Surface water in summer commonly warms to the mid-70s to mid-80s °F (about 24–30 °C), with the warmest readings often in July and August. In early spring the lake is cool, generally ranging from the mid-40s to low 60s °F (roughly 7–16 °C) as it comes out of the colder months. By late autumn temperatures usually fall into the 50s–60s °F (10–20 °C) in September and October before dropping more sharply in winter; during cold periods the surface can approach freezing, often in the low 30s–40 °F (0–4 °C), and portions may ice over when conditions allow.
Swimming at West Boggs is possible but should be approached with caution. The lake does not generally have designated lifeguarded public swimming beaches, so any swimming is at your own risk, and local rules or seasonal advisories (for water quality, boating traffic, or ice conditions) can affect safety. Visitors who choose to swim should be mindful of changing temperatures, underwater hazards, boat traffic, and the likelihood of limited on-site emergency services, and they should check current local guidance before entering the water.
