** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The lakes and reservoirs in the Serranía de Cuenca (Serranía de Cuenca) are fed by mountain springs and rivers, so their water tends to be cool year-round. Typical seasonal surface temperatures for these highland waters range from about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F) in winter, 6–15 °C (43–59 °F) in spring, 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in summer at the warmest shallow areas, and 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) in autumn. Deep sections and shaded coves remain noticeably colder even in summer, and early- or late-season temperatures can drop quickly after cold spells or heavy rainfall.
Swimming is possible in many of the larger reservoirs and designated bathing spots, particularly during the warmest weeks of July and August, but it is not universally permitted across all bodies of water in the Serranía de Cuenca. Restrictions are sometimes in place to protect sensitive habitats, drinking-water intakes or for safety reasons such as steep drop-offs, strong currents and lack of lifeguards. Visitors should therefore check local signage and municipal rules before entering the water; when allowed, swimmers should be prepared for brisk temperatures and sudden changes in depth.
