** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The lake known as Embalse de Entrepeñas, in Castilla–La Mancha, typically shows marked seasonal variation in surface water temperature due to its inland location and depth. In winter the water often sits around 6–10 °C (43–50 °F), while spring brings a gradual rise to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). Peak summer temperatures commonly reach about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) on warm days, with late summer sometimes pushing toward the high 20s °C (about 80–82 °F) in sheltered areas. Autumn cooling is progressive, with surface readings often falling back into the 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) range. Thermal stratification and local weather patterns mean temperatures can vary across the reservoir and with depth, so surface warmth does not always reflect conditions below a few metres.
Swimming at Entrepeñas is a frequent recreational activity and there are informal bathing spots and facilities for water sports, but permission and safety depend on local rules and conditions. Authorities sometimes impose restrictions for reasons such as water quality, low reservoir levels, boat traffic, or protection of supply infrastructure, so visitors should heed signage and municipal guidance. Even when swimming is allowed, caution is advisable because of cold deeper layers, sudden depth changes, and boat movements; life jackets and awareness of designated safe areas improve safety.
