** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The lake (Spanish: Laguna de Gallocanta) is a shallow, often saline wetland on the high plains of Aragon whose surface temperatures vary strongly with the seasons because of limited depth and continental climate. Typical seasonal surface-water temperature ranges are roughly 0–5 °C (32–41 °F) in winter, 6–15 °C (43–59 °F) in spring, 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) in summer, and 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) in autumn, although exact values depend on yearly precipitation and how full the lagoon is. Shallow areas warm quickly on hot days but can also cool rapidly at night, so short-term swings are common.
Swimming at Laguna de Gallocanta is not a typical recreational activity and is generally discouraged. The lagoon is an ecologically sensitive habitat for migratory and breeding birds; water levels and salinity fluctuate, there are few facilities or lifeguards, and water quality is not managed for bathing. High salinity and alkaline conditions in some years can irritate skin, and authorities often restrict access to protect wildlife, especially during migration and nesting seasons. Visitors seeking to enjoy the site are advised to observe from designated viewpoints and follow local regulations rather than swim.
