** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
#Norfolk
Salhouse Broad is a shallow, reed-edged broad in the Norfolk Broads whose surface temperature varies with the season and exposure. In winter surface water commonly sits around 3–6 °C (37–43 °F), spring usually warms to roughly 7–13 °C (45–55 °F), summer can bring the broad up to about 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) on warm days, and autumn typically ranges from 9–14 °C (48–57 °F). Because it is fairly shallow and sheltered, surface temperatures can rise quickly on sunny days but fall back in cool or windy weather.
Swimming at Salhouse Broad is not provided as an organised, lifeguarded activity and the broad is privately managed, so there is no official public bathing area; informal wild swimming does occur but visitors should seek permission, be aware of boat traffic, submerged vegetation and silty bottoms, and take standard safety precautions. Nearby attractions include village amenities and riverside walks, boat hire and Broads wildlife watching, making the area popular for gentle outdoor recreation even for those who choose to admire the water rather than swim in it.
