*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
#Norfolk
Rockland Broad, one of the shallow, reed-fringed waters in the Norfolk Broads near Rockland St Mary, generally has cool, variable water temperatures. Through winter the surface typically falls to around 4–7 °C (39–45 °F), rising in spring to roughly 6–15 °C (43–59 °F) as daylight increases. Summer surface temperatures commonly reach 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) on warm spells, while autumn sees a gradual fall back into the 10–14 °C (50–57 °F) range. Because the broad is shallow and peat-stained, temperatures can change quickly with weather and sunshine, and deeper or shaded spots will feel noticeably colder.
Swimming in Rockland Broad is generally discouraged rather than promoted: the site is valued for wildlife and several areas are managed as a nature reserve, and there are also typical safety concerns such as soft silt, submerged vegetation, variable depths and occasional boat traffic. Visitors more commonly enjoy the area for boating, angling from boats, and birdwatching. Nearby attractions include the wider Norfolk Broads network, the village of Rockland St Mary, and larger centres such as Wroxham and Norwich, which offer visitor facilities and additional walking and wildlife sites.
