*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
#Norfolk
Martham Broad, one of the shallow broads in the Norfolk Broads system, experiences typical inland water temperatures for eastern England. In winter the surface usually sits around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), rising through spring to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F). Peak summer temperatures commonly reach 17–22 °C (63–72 °F) on warm days, while autumn sees a cooling back to about 10–15 °C (50–59 °F). Local conditions can vary with weather, depth and reed cover, so short-term temperatures may be cooler or warmer than these seasonal averages.
Swimming is not actively promoted at Martham Broad and there is no formal designated bathing area; informal wild swimming occurs but is generally discouraged for safety and conservation reasons. The broad has reedbeds, variable depths, boat traffic and occasional water-quality issues such as algal blooms, all of which make managed sites a safer choice. Visitors to the area more commonly enjoy birdwatching, boat hire and walking in the Broads, with nearby highlights including Hickling Broad and the coastal beaches and dunes around Winterton and Horsey.
