*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pushaw Lake’s surface waters vary widely through the year. In spring the lake is cool as it thaws, commonly ranging from about 45–60°F (7–16°C) as snowmelt and runoff flush cold water into the basin. By early to mid-summer surface temperatures typically warm to roughly 65–75°F (18–24°C), and in shallow bays and on warm July/August afternoons can reach the upper 70s to around 80°F (25–27°C). In early fall temperatures fall back into the 50s–60s°F (10–16°C) range, and winter brings near-freezing conditions and ice cover with water at or just above 32–39°F (0–4°C).
Swimming is permitted as a recreational activity at public access points and from private shorelines, but conditions determine whether it is advisable. Warm summer temperatures make swimming comfortable in many parts of the lake, yet seasonal risks exist: spring and fall cold water pose shock and hypothermia hazards, winter ice makes swimming unsafe, and occasional water-quality issues such as elevated bacteria or harmful algal blooms can lead to temporary advisories that restrict swimming. Many areas lack lifeguards, so swimmers should observe posted notices, check local health advisories, and use appropriate precautions.
