*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pemadumcook Lake experiences a clear seasonal cycle in water temperature. After ice-out in spring, surface temperatures typically range from about 35–55°F (2–13°C) as the lake warms through May and June. In summer the surface commonly reaches the mid-60s to mid-70s Fahrenheit, roughly 18–24°C, with shallow bays occasionally warming toward 75–78°F (24–26°C) on very warm, calm days. By early fall the surface cools into the 50s–60s °F (10–16°C) and drops further into the 40s–50s °F (4–10°C) as seasonal cooling progresses. In winter the lake usually freezes in places, with surface ice at or near 32°F (0°C) and the water beneath the ice settling toward the densest water temperature near about 39°F (4°C) at depth.
Swimming in Pemadumcook Lake is commonly practiced in the warmer months because the surface temperatures in summer are suitable for recreational swimming. The lake’s size, varied shoreline and public access spots make it possible to swim from shore, docks or boats, but conditions can be variable: even in summer, deeper water remains significantly colder and sudden temperature change can increase risk of cold-water shock or hypothermia. In spring and fall the cool temperatures limit comfortable swimming, and in winter the presence of ice makes open-water swimming hazardous without specialized training and safety measures. Always consider local advisories, boat traffic and personal safety equipment.
