*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Mattmarksee is an artificial lake located in the Saas Valley, in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. Nestled at an elevation of about 2,200 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest reservoirs in the Alps. The lake was created for hydroelectric power generation and is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, making it a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Due to its high altitude, the water temperature in Mattmarksee is relatively cold throughout the year. The lake is usually ice-covered during the winter months, and the water begins to warm up in late spring and summer, allowing for some recreational activities such as fishing and picnicking. The maximum temperature typically reaches around 15°C in July and August, but it can vary depending on the weather conditions.
