Lake Mergozzo in Piedmont is noted for its clear, cool waters. Seasonal surface temperatures typically range from about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in mid‑winter to roughly 8–18 °C (46–64 °F) through spring. In summer, when conditions are most favorable for bathing, surface temperatures commonly reach 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) and on particularly warm days can approach 27 °C (80 °F). As autumn arrives the water cools again, often falling into the 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) band. Local weather, wind, and inflows from mountain streams influence these values, and deeper or shaded spots remain noticeably colder than the surface.
