*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Mergozzo in Piedmont is noted for its clear, cool waters. Seasonal surface temperatures typically range from about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in mid‑winter to roughly 8–18 °C (46–64 °F) through spring. In summer, when conditions are most favorable for bathing, surface temperatures commonly reach 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) and on particularly warm days can approach 27 °C (80 °F). As autumn arrives the water cools again, often falling into the 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) band. Local weather, wind, and inflows from mountain streams influence these values, and deeper or shaded spots remain noticeably colder than the surface.
Swimming in Lago di Mergozzo is allowed and is a popular activity because the lake enjoys very high water quality and limited motor traffic, both of which help keep the water clean and pleasant for bathers. The municipality maintains access points and informal bathing areas, but swimmers should be aware that even in summer the water can feel brisk, especially away from shallow sun‑warmed zones, and that safety provisions such as lifeguards are not guaranteed at every spot. Environmental protections and boating restrictions contribute to the lake’s suitability for recreational swimming.
