Griessee is an artificial alpine lake located in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, near the Italian border. Situated at an altitude of about 2,400 meters, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. The lake is part of a hydroelectric power system and is a popular destination for hikers. Due to its high elevation, the water temperature in Griessee remains cold throughout the year. In summer, the temperature typically ranges between 2°C and 8°C (36°F to 46°F), making swimming very rare.
