** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Limfjorden (Danish: Limfjorden) is a broad, shallow strait in northern Jutland that lies partly within the Central Denmark Region. Water temperatures vary with season and location: in winter months surface temperatures commonly sit around 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), spring ranges roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F), summer typically sees 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) with sheltered bays occasionally reaching about 24 °C (75 °F), and autumn usually cools to about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). Because the fjord is shallow and connected to open seas, temperatures can change quickly with weather, and sheltered inlets warm faster than open channels. Salinity and currents also influence local conditions, so temperature can differ from place to place.
Swimming in Limfjorden is generally allowed and commonly practiced at designated beaches, harbors and bathing spots, and local authorities monitor water quality during the bathing season. Reasons swimming is permitted include public access to the shoreline, frequent monitoring, and many areas being shallow and suitable for recreational use. However, swimmers should be aware of occasional water-quality advisories, blue‑green algae in warm late summers, boat traffic and local currents. Early‑season and late‑season swims often require wetsuits due to cooler temperatures.
