** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Filsø in the Region of Southern Denmark is a shallow, restored freshwater lake whose surface temperatures follow the Danish seasonal cycle. In winter the water commonly sits around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and can approach freezing in cold spells. Spring temperatures typically rise to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as the lake thaws and warms. During the warmest months the surface often reaches about 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), with the warmest weeks occasionally a few degrees higher on calm, sunny days. In autumn the water cools back to about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as air temperatures drop. Shallow areas warm faster than deeper parts, so local variations are common.
Swimming in Filsø is possible and many visitors bathe or wade along accessible shorelines, but arrangements are informal rather than organized beach facilities; there are typically no lifeguards. Because Filsø is also an important nature and bird conservation area after its restoration, some shore stretches or islands may be protected or seasonally restricted to safeguard wildlife, so swimming may be discouraged in those zones. Water quality has generally improved since re-establishment, yet conditions can vary and occasional algal development can occur in warm, still weather; checking local signage and current conditions before entering the water is advisable.
