*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Søndersø (Søndersø Viborg) is a central Jutland lake where water temperatures vary markedly through the year. In spring the lake is typically cold, often in the range of about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F) as ice melts and ambient temperatures remain low. By early summer surface temperatures usually rise to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), with the warmest weeks of July and August sometimes bringing surface waters up to about 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) in sheltered, shallow bays. Come autumn the water cools again, commonly falling to around 6–14 °C (43–57 °F), and in winter temperatures often approach freezing, about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), when ice can form in cold winters.
Swimming at Søndersø is generally permitted and is popular at designated access points and simple bathing areas maintained by the municipality. The reason swimming is allowed is that it is a public freshwater resource with places prepared for recreational use; however conditions vary seasonally and by location. Water quality is monitored and occasional algal blooms or runoff events can prompt temporary advisories. There may be no lifeguard coverage, water can be deceptively cold outside peak summer, and visibility or underwater hazards differ around the shore, so swimmers should heed local signage, check current water-quality notices, and take usual safety precautions.
