*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Mossø is one of the larger lakes in the Central Denmark Region and experiences the seasonal temperature patterns typical for Danish lowland lakes. In spring the water gradually warms from near freezing to roughly 3–12 °C (37–54 °F), while summer surface temperatures commonly sit between about 17–24 °C (63–75 °F) and can reach around 25 °C (77 °F) during warm spells. Early autumn sees cooling to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) and in winter the lake is often near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), with occasional ice or very cold surface conditions in harsh winters. These figures are approximate and vary with weather, wind and depth; deeper parts of the lake remain colder year-round.
Swimming in Mossø is permitted and is a popular recreational activity in summer because water quality is generally good and there are accessible shoreline areas. Safety considerations include low temperatures outside the warmest months, unpredictable depths, boat traffic in parts of the lake and the small risk of blue‑green algal blooms in hot, calm conditions. Designated bathing spots may offer easier access and fewer hazards, but swimmers should always check local advisories and take standard precautions against cold shock and currents.
