*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Vico (Lago di Vico) is a small volcanic crater lake in Lazio that tends to remain cooler than lowland Mediterranean waters because of its elevation and clear, well-oxygenated character. Typical surface temperatures over the year approximate winter lows of about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), spring values roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F), summer highs in the neighborhood of 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), and autumn cooling back toward 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). These figures can vary with weather, wind and depth: shallow bays warm faster in calm spells, while deeper or shaded areas stay noticeably colder.
Swimming at Lake Vico is possible but comes with caveats. The lake sits within a regional natural park, so access and activities are managed to protect habitats and water quality; some stretches are used for bathing and informal swimming, while others are restricted for conservation reasons. Additionally, there is typically no uniform lifeguard coverage, and the water can feel brisk even in summer, so personal safety and thermal shock are considerations. Visitors should follow local signage and park rules, choose designated access points, and be mindful of environmental protections when deciding to swim.
