*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Dringis experiences the same seasonal shifts as many inland Lithuanian lakes. In spring (April–May) surface temperatures typically climb from around 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as the ice melts and the water begins to stratify. Summer (June–August) is the warmest period, with common readings of 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in open water and shallow bays sometimes reaching up to about 26 °C (79 °F) during heat waves. In autumn (September–November) the water cools again, often falling to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) before winter. By December through March the lake usually approaches freezing at the surface and can be ice-covered; surface temperatures then hover around 0 °C (32 °F) or just above, with water beneath the ice only a few degrees warmer.
Swimming in Lake Dringis is generally possible and commonly practiced in the warmer months because the shoreline is accessible and there are no blanket prohibitions; local conditions, water quality and safety provisions determine whether particular spots are suitable. During summer the temperatures are comfortable for recreational swimming, while spring and autumn swims are brisk and require caution. In winter organized ice swimming may occur but involves deliberate safety measures. Visitors should heed local signs, check recent water-quality reports, and be mindful of depth, currents and the absence of lifeguards.
