*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago del Coghinas is a large artificial reservoir in northern Sardinia whose temperature varies with the Mediterranean seasons and its inland location. In winter the water is typically cool, about 8–12 °C (46–54 °F). Spring sees a gradual rise to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) as air temperatures warm. In summer the shallower bays and sheltered coves can reach roughly 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), making swimming most comfortable in July and August. During autumn the lake usually cools back to approximately 14–20 °C (57–68 °F) as evenings turn cooler and rainfall can mix the water column.
Swimming is commonly practiced around Lago del Coghinas, especially in summer, but access and safety vary by location. Some shores and inlets are informal recreational spots, whereas areas near the dam, intake structures or where water is managed for drinking supply and hydroelectric use may be restricted for safety or quality reasons. Water levels can change suddenly and lifeguards are not typically present, so swimmers should heed local signage and municipal rules. In general, water quality is usable for recreation in warm months, but checking current local guidance before entering is advisable to avoid prohibited zones and ensure safe conditions.
