** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago Alto del Flumendosa (Italian: Lago Alto del Flumendosa) is an artificial reservoir in central-eastern Sardinia whose surface temperatures vary seasonally and with depth. In general, surface temperatures tend to be coolest in winter, approximately 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), rise through spring to around 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), and reach their warmest in summer, typically 20–25 °C (68–77 °F), occasionally topping the mid-20s °C (mid-70s °F) on heat spells. Autumn surface temperatures usually fall back to about 15–20 °C (59–68 °F). Because the reservoir is relatively deep in places, deeper layers remain markedly colder year-round (often in the single digits to low teens °C, about 43–54 °F), and thermal stratification can produce sharp temperature contrasts between surface and depth.
Swimming around Lago Alto del Flumendosa is often restricted or discouraged for practical and safety reasons rather than for a lack of scenic appeal. The reservoir serves water-supply and hydroelectric functions, and authorities may limit access; furthermore, steep banks, submerged structures, sudden depth changes, cold deep water, and boat traffic create hazards. Where swimming is permitted, it is safest in late summer when surface temperatures are highest and only in designated, supervised areas if available. Visitors should check local regulations and signage before entering the water.
