*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Baratz (Italian: Lago di Baratz) is the only natural freshwater lake on Sardinia and sits near the northwest coast by Alghero. Because it is relatively small and partially sheltered, its surface waters show noticeable seasonal variation. Typical winter temperatures run about 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), rising through spring to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). In summer the lake commonly warms to around 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), with peak spells sometimes pushing slightly higher on hot days, while autumn sees a gradual decline to roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F).
Swimming is commonly practiced in summer and the lake is accessible for bathing, so swimming is generally allowed; many visitors take advantage of the milder summer water to cool off. That said, the lake lies within a sensitive natural area and local conservation rules or temporary restrictions can apply to protect wildlife, vegetation and water quality, especially during breeding seasons or after heavy storms. Water quality is usually acceptable for recreational use, but it can vary, so checking current local signage and guidance before entering the water is advisable.
