Böllük Gölü, in Konya province, is a shallow inland lake whose surface water temperatures vary strongly with the seasons. In winter (December–February) the lake commonly approaches freezing, often around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and can partially ice over in cold years. Spring (March–May) brings a steady rise, with surface temperatures typically in the 6–15 °C (43–59 °F) range as the water warms. Summer (June–August) is the warmest period; surface readings often reach about 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), though shallow bays can be a few degrees warmer on hot days.
