** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Akşehir Lake (Akşehir Gölü) is a shallow, inland lake in the Afyonkarahisar region of central Turkey whose surface temperatures vary strongly with the seasons because of its low depth and continental climate. In winter the water frequently approaches near-freezing conditions, typically around 0–6 °C (32–43 °F). Spring brings a steady rise to roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) as the lake responds to warmer air and runoff. By summer the shallow bays can warm substantially, commonly reaching 20–28 °C (68–82 °F) and in particularly hot years some sheltered areas may exceed 30 °C (86 °F). In autumn the surface cools again through a range of approximately 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as nights grow cooler and winds increase.
Although swimming is physically possible in parts of Akşehir Lake when temperatures are highest, it is not widely promoted or always advisable. The lake’s shallow nature encourages high salinity and algal growth in some seasons, agricultural runoff and variable water levels can affect water quality, and sections of the shoreline are important habitat for birds and other wildlife, often under protection. For those considering entry to the water, local guidance and seasonal conditions should be checked first, since access or recommended activities can be limited by conservation rules and public-health considerations.
