This water temperature is still quite low, and swimming in such conditions may only be comfortable for hardened individuals. It is recommended to limit the time spent in the water to avoid hypothermia. For those not accustomed to cold water, it is better to refrain from swimming. However, if you decide to enter the water, it is advisable to wear a warm wetsuit for protection against the cold. ** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago di Rochemolles is a high‑mountain reservoir in Piedmont whose water temperatures reflect its alpine setting. Through winter the surface usually sits at or below freezing and the lake can be partly or fully ice‑covered (around 0 °C / 32 °F). In spring thaw months temperatures typically rise to roughly 2–8 °C (36–46 °F). During the short summer season the warmest surface readings often range from about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F), occasionally reaching nearer 18 °C (64 °F) on very warm, calm afternoons. By autumn the water cools again to something like 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) as air temperatures drop and inflows increase.
Swimming in Lago di Rochemolles is physically possible but uncommon and not generally comfortable because of the persistently cold water and the brief warm season. Because it is a managed reservoir, access and bathing may also be subject to local rules and practical safety concerns: sudden changes in water level, underwater currents near inlets or outlets, and proximity to dam infrastructure can pose hazards. For these reasons visitors are advised to check signage and local regulations before entering the water, and to take precautions against cold‑water shock if they choose to swim.
