Location & Local Information
Lake Bled (Blejsko jezero) is one of the warmest alpine lakes in Slovenia, which makes it especially attractive for swimming. In the summer months, the water usually reaches 22–25°C, and during particularly hot periods it can climb up to 26°C. In spring and autumn the lake is cooler, around 12–18°C, while in winter the temperature often drops close to 4–6°C.
Thanks to its pleasant warmth in summer, Lake Bled is very popular for bathing, with designated swimming areas and even organized events such as open-water swims. The water is generally calm, making it suitable for families, casual swimmers, and also for those who enjoy rowing or stand-up paddling. Outside of summer, swimming is possible but mainly taken up by enthusiasts who enjoy cold-water dips.
