*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse de Colomera, a reservoir in the province of Granada in Andalusia, experiences marked seasonal variations in water temperature. In winter the surface water commonly sits around 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) as cooler mountain inflows dominate. Spring sees a gradual warming to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as air temperatures rise and solar radiation increases. Peak summer temperatures can push the shallows into the high teens to mid-twenties, typically about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), with occasional warmer pockets on calm, sunny days. In autumn the water cools again, generally ranging from about 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) as the reservoir responds to shortening days and cooler nights.
Swimming at Embalse de Colomera is often limited or discouraged for reasons common to many reservoirs: it is managed as a water supply and safety and hygiene considerations lead local authorities to restrict recreational bathing in parts or all of the reservoir. Where informal swimming does occur, it tends to be in isolated coves and during warmer months, but such use may be unofficial and carries risks from submerged obstacles, changing depths, and fluctuating currents. Visitors should follow posted regulations and local guidance, because permission and conditions can vary.
