Aurora Reservoir’s surface water temperatures vary widely through the year because of Colorado’s seasonal swings and the reservoir’s depth. In winter the surface often sits near freezing, roughly 32–40°F (0–4°C). Spring warming raises surface readings into the 40s and 50s Fahrenheit, about 4–16°C, though cool spells can persist. Peak summer surface temperatures commonly reach the mid-60s to mid-70s F, approximately 18–24°C, especially on sunny, calm days.
