Location & Local Information
Zdolbuniv is located near the Ustya River in western Ukraine, in the Rivne region. The Ustya here is a relatively small river with calm flow and narrow banks, which makes it more picturesque than suitable for serious swimming. In summer, the water warms up quickly — by July it often reaches 20–23°C, although after rains it can cool down notably. The shallow depth and slow current make the river pleasant for short dips or wading, especially during warm evenings.
Local residents sometimes swim in the wider sections of the Ustya near Zdolbuniv, but most prefer to go to nearby ponds or small lakes where the water is cleaner and more comfortable for bathing. The Ustya itself is more suitable for recreation by the water — fishing, picnicking, or relaxing on its grassy banks — than for regular swimming.
