Location & Local Information
Truskavets is located in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains in western Ukraine, with mild summers and cold winters. The air temperature in August often reaches highs around 24-25 °C, and nights are a lot cooler. Because of this moderate ambient heat, a shallow lake like Boryslavske could warm up in summer near the surface to perhaps 20-22 °C under good sun exposure. Deeper zones, shaded areas, or parts fed by cooler mountain springs will likely stay cooler, maybe in the upper teens (15-18 °C).
As for swimming possibilities: during warm summer months, a swim in Boryslavske Ozero might be quite pleasant, especially if you choose early afternoon when sun has had time to warm the water. But the lake’s features matter a lot — how deep it is, how clear, whether there’s algae, and whether the shores are safe and accessible. Outside mid-summer, water may feel cold for many people, particularly in mornings or after rainfall or windy days. So while swimming is plausible in summer, it likely isn’t comfortable year-round.
