*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Opir River in the area of the city of Skole is a typical mountain river in the Ukrainian Carpathians, which directly affects both its water temperature and swimming opportunities. Due to its mountainous origin and fast current, the water in the Opir remains quite cool even in the middle of summer. In the warmest months, July and August, the water temperature rarely exceeds +17 to +20∘C, and the temperature can quickly drop after heavy rains or snowmelt in the highlands. For an unacclimatized person, such water is considered too cool for prolonged swimming.
Nevertheless, within the city of Skole and its surroundings, there are spots favored by locals where one can cool off, including small natural beaches or quiet backwaters. Due to the relative slowdown of the current in certain areas, especially where the riverbed widens or tributaries join, the water can warm up to more comfortable values, but it remains refreshingly cool. It is worth noting that the Opir River is known for its rapids and is active for rafting (especially in spring), so swimming requires caution and the selection of safe, shallow sections.
Thus, the Opir River in Skole offers opportunities for short, refreshing dips on hot days, but it is not a destination for warm beach leisure. Its main advantage is the crystal-clear and invigorating mountain water. For safe swimming, one should choose specially adapted areas or those known to locals, avoiding places with fast currents and whirlpools.
