*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Svitiaz Lake, the largest and deepest in the Shatsk Lakes system, is renowned for its crystal-clear water, which is of karst origin and fed by underground springs. Due to its significant maximum depth (up to 58.4 meters) and the constant inflow of cold artesian water, the water temperature in Svityaz is not uniform. While it remains perpetually cool in the deepest parts, around +9∘C, the shallow coastal areas warm up excellently in the summer. During the peak swimming season, from mid-June to the end of August, the surface water temperature at the beaches ranges from a comfortable +20 to +23∘C, and can climb higher during particularly hot spells.
The swimming opportunities at Svitiaz Lake are considered among the best in Ukraine. It stands out due to its wide sandy beaches, especially in the Hryada area and Svityaz village, and most importantly, its very gentle, shallow entry into the water, which is safe for children. In many sections, one can walk dozens or even a hundred meters from the shore where the water will only reach the waist. This makes it an ideal place for family holidays.
Located within the Shatsk National Nature Park, Svitiaz offers not only beach relaxation but also active recreation. The tourist infrastructure around the lake is well-developed, with resorts and the possibility of renting boats, kayaks, and catamarans. The clear water, sandy bottom, and surrounding forest create a seaside-like atmosphere, and the swimming season here generally lasts until the beginning of September.
