*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Luky Lake is one of the largest, yet also one of the shallowest lakes within the famous Shatsk Lakes group in Volyn. This karst lake covers a significant area (about 6.8 km²) but its average depth is only around 2.1 meters, with a maximum depth rarely exceeding 3.2 meters. Due to this low depth, the water in Luky Lake heats up very quickly and consistently. During the peak summer season in July and August, the temperature of the surface layers is usually among the highest of all the Shatsk Lakes, often reaching a very comfortable +22 to +24∘C for prolonged swimming.
Regarding swimming opportunities, Luky Lake is excellent for recreation, particularly for families with small children because of its shallow nature. It boasts clean water and a sandy bottom in the eastern part, although the shores are generally heavily indented, low-lying, and marshy in places. Swimming is popular here, but it’s important to note that due to the marshiness and the prevalence of aquatic vegetation (including water lilies, forming flower fields), organized beaches and developed infrastructure are much scarcer here compared to Svityaz or Pisochne Lake.
Luky Lake is ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat in a picturesque natural setting. It is also well-known as a place for kayaking and birdwatching, but due to the significant siltation of the bottom in the central and western parts, it is more wild and less adapted for mass beach tourism.
