*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Júcar River (Río Júcar) in the Valencian region exhibits notable seasonal variation in water temperature because of its Mediterranean climate and the influence of reservoirs and canyons along its course. In winter the water typically ranges from about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), remaining brisk in deeper stretches. Spring temperatures generally rise to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as snowmelt and rains moderate. During the hottest months of summer some shallow, sheltered pools and reservoir edges can warm to roughly 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), while deeper or faster-flowing sections stay cooler. In autumn temperatures commonly fall back toward 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) as air temperatures decline and runoff patterns change.
Swimming is allowed in many accessible parts of the Júcar, especially in calm stretches, natural pools and regulated reservoir beaches, but it is not universally safe or permitted everywhere. Local authorities monitor water quality and may close spots after heavy rains or if contamination is detected; hydroelectric dams and sudden releases create dangerous currents near infrastructure. Conservation rules also restrict access in protected or ecologically sensitive areas. Visitors should choose designated bathing areas, heed signage and warnings, and be aware that temperatures vary quickly between shallow sunlit pools and cold deeper channels.
