*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Valencia (Spanish: Valencia) sits near the freshwater lagoon known as L'Albufera, a shallow coastal lake whose temperatures vary noticeably through the year. In winter the surface water typically cools to roughly 10–14 °C (50–57 °F). Spring brings a steady rise, with averages around 14–20 °C (57–68 °F) as daylight and river inflows warm the shallows. Summer sees the warmest conditions, often between 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) in the warmest months, especially in sheltered, shallow areas exposed to sun. In autumn temperatures generally decline to about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) as cooler air and renewed exchange with the sea moderate the lagoon.
Swimming in L'Albufera is generally not permitted and is discouraged for a combination of ecological and safety reasons. The lagoon is part of a protected natural park where restrictions aim to preserve habitat for birds and aquatic plants; shallow, muddy bottoms, variable water quality and local boat traffic also make bathing impractical and potentially unsafe. Because of these protections, visitors seeking to swim usually use the monitored Mediterranean beaches closer to the city, where water quality and lifeguard services are maintained, while the lake is valued primarily for wildlife, boating, and scenic walks rather than recreational swimming.
