*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Iași, in Romania’s north‑east, is crossed by the Bahlui River and bordered by several small lakes and ponds, the most used being the Ciric lakes in the suburban recreational area. Water temperatures in these inland bodies follow a continental pattern: in spring rivers like the Bahlui typically range from about 4–14 °C (39–57 °F) while shallow lakes warm more quickly to roughly 6–16 °C (43–61 °F). In midsummer lake surface temperatures often reach 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), with river sections generally a little cooler, around 16–22 °C (61–72 °F). Autumn sees a steady decline, lakes cooling to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) and rivers to about 6–14 °C (43–57 °F). In winter temperatures commonly approach freezing, with 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in lakes and near 0–3 °C (32–37 °F) in rivers, and occasional ice cover on sheltered ponds.
Swimming opportunities depend on site and season. Designated recreational areas around the Ciric lakes are commonly used for bathing in summer, when higher shallow‑water temperatures and managed access make swimming feasible, though official oversight and water quality testing can vary. In contrast, swimming in the Bahlui and many urban ponds is generally discouraged or unofficial because of variable water quality, urban runoff and limited monitoring; local regulations or posted signs should be consulted for safety and legality before entering the water.
