** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Jūra River in Lithuania experiences clear seasonal variation in water temperature driven by air temperature, flow and depth. In winter the river is typically at or near freezing, around 0–1 °C (32–34 °F) and often partly or fully ice-covered. Spring brings a gradual thaw with waters commonly ranging from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as snowmelt and rain increase flow. In summer the Jūra warms to more comfortable levels, typically between 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) and occasionally up to about 24 °C (75 °F) during prolonged heat; autumn cooling usually puts temperatures in the 8–15 °C range (46–59 °F). Local microclimates, shallow bays and slow-moving stretches warm faster than deeper or faster-flowing sections, so temperatures can vary along the river.
Swimming in the Jūra is a common recreational activity in summer where conditions are calm and the water has warmed sufficiently, but whether it is advisable depends on local conditions. There are no universal bans on bathing, yet swimming is unsafe when the river is frozen, during high or fast flows, or after heavy rains that may compromise water quality. Many popular spots are informal rather than lifeguarded beaches, so swimmers should check for local water-quality information, watch for currents and submerged hazards, and avoid entering cold water suddenly to reduce risk of cold-shock or hypothermia.
