*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The River Teme, a major tributary of the River Severn in the Welsh Marches, is characterized by its quick-flowing nature, which contributes to a wide seasonal temperature range. In the winter months, the water temperature is consistently cold, usually registering between 4∘C and 7∘C (39∘F to 45∘∘F). During the height of summer, the river warms up, with temperatures typically ranging from 16∘C to 19∘C (61∘F to 66∘F) in slower-moving sections, making it acceptable for a refreshing wild swim.
While wild swimming has become popular along some stretches of the Teme, such as near Ludlow's Millennium Green, it is generally unregulated and comes with significant caveats. The section at Ludlow has recently been granted Bathing Water Status, meaning it is officially monitored, but initial water quality reports often classify it as 'Poor' due to sewage and agricultural runoff. Swimmers are advised to be cautious of fast currents, underwater obstacles, and pollution after heavy rainfall. Beyond the river, the area is rich in history, with major attractions including the impressive Ludlow Castle , and the scenic Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
