** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Reno (Italian: Reno) originates in the Apennines on the Tuscan–Emilian border, and its water temperature varies widely with season, altitude and flow. In upper, mountain-fed stretches temperatures are coolest: in winter water commonly ranges around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F). During spring and early summer, as snowmelt and rains influence flow, temperatures typically rise to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). In lower, slow-moving reaches on warmer summer days the river can warm further, often reaching 15–26 °C (59–79 °F), while autumn sees a gradual fall back toward spring values. Local microclimates and recent weather (heat waves or heavy rains) can push these ranges higher or lower.
Swimming in the Reno is possible in many stretches, but it is not universally permitted or advisable everywhere. Authorities rarely impose a blanket ban, yet specific spots may be closed because of safety risks (strong currents, sudden depth changes, or upstream discharges), infrastructure such as weirs and bridges, or periodic water-quality concerns. Popular local bathing areas tend to be downstream pools or wider slow reaches in summer when temperatures are comfortable, but swimmers should heed signage, respect municipal rules, and be cautious after heavy rain when currents and turbidity increase.
