** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Savio is a modest Apennine river flowing east across Emilia-Romagna to the Adriatic near Cervia and Cesenatico. Water temperature varies with season and with altitude: in the upper, mountain-fed reaches temperatures tend to stay cool year-round, while lower, slower stretches warm more in summer. Typical seasonal ranges along the river as a whole are roughly winter 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), spring 8–15 °C (46–59 °F), summer 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) and autumn 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). Local conditions can push values outside these bands — sudden cold spells or heat waves, snowmelt and heavy rain can all change temperatures and flow quickly — and shallow, slow sections warm more than deep, fast ones.
Swimming in the Savio is possible in many stretches, particularly in mid and lower reaches during the warmest months when water temperatures approach the mid-20s °C (mid-70s °F), but it is not universally recommended everywhere. Safety and legality depend on site: currents, hidden rocks, sudden depth changes and infrastructure such as weirs present hazards, and some areas may be restricted for ecological or water-supply reasons. Water quality also varies with season and runoff, so locals and municipal notices should be checked before bathing; lifeguards are generally not present on natural river spots.
